Getting Started
Do I need an account to try Incarn?
No. You can upload a photo and generate an animation without creating an account. You get 1 free animation as a guest. To generate more or save your results, you'll need to sign up.
How do I create an account?
Click 'Sign in' and enter your email address. We'll send you a magic link — no password needed. Click the link in your email and you're in.
What kind of photo should I use?
A clear, front-facing portrait works best. The face should be well-lit and not obscured. Old black-and-white or sepia photos work great. Avoid group photos or photos where the face is very small.
How long does it take to generate an animation?
Usually under a minute. The exact time depends on server load, but most animations are ready in 30–60 seconds.
Can I animate a photo of a living person?
Yes, technically. Incarn works on any portrait photo. However, it was designed with ancestor photos in mind — older photos with less detail tend to produce particularly striking results.
How It Works
How does the magic work?
Our technology analyzes the face in your photo and generates unique, natural motion tailored to that specific person. Unlike older tools that loop the same movement for everyone, each Incarn animation is different.
How is Incarn different from Deep Nostalgia™?
Deep Nostalgia™ (by MyHeritage™) applies a pre-recorded motion template to every photo. Incarn generates entirely new motion tailored to each face, producing smoother, more natural, and more varied results. And no subscription.
What does the animation look like?
Subtle natural movements are added: a gentle head turn, blinking, slight facial expressions. The result is a short video clip that makes the person in the photo appear alive and present.
Can I control what the animation does?
You can choose between two styles: 'Animated portrait' (subtle face movements) or 'Living memory' (the entire scene comes alive). We're working on offering even more options.
What format is the output video?
The generated video is an MP4 file. You can download it and share it however you like.
Pricing
How much does it cost?
Starting at 0.80€ per photo depending on the pack you choose. The more photos you animate, the less you pay. Your first animation is free, no account required.
What if the result doesn't suit me?
You can relaunch an animation, it uses one photo from your pack. Results are different each time.
Are payments secure?
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment providers. We never see or store your card details.
Can I get a refund?
Packs are generally non-refundable, as animations are generated immediately. If you experience a technical issue, contact us at [email protected] and we'll make it right.
Do my animations expire?
No. Purchased animations do not expire. They'll be available whenever you're ready to use them.
Privacy & Security
What happens to my photos after I upload them?
Uploaded photos are automatically deleted after 7 days. Generated videos are retained for 30 days, then permanently deleted. We never use your photos for training purposes.
Is my data shared with anyone?
Your photo is sent to our animation technology to generate the animation, that's the only external service that processes it. We never sell your data or share it for advertising purposes.
Do you comply with GDPR?
Yes. You have the right to access, delete, or export your personal data at any time. Email [email protected] to exercise your rights. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I delete my account and all my data?
Yes. Email [email protected] with a deletion request and we'll remove your account and all associated data within 30 days.
Technical
What image formats are supported?
JPEG and PNG are supported. For best results, use a high-resolution image — at least 512×512 pixels, ideally higher.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, the maximum upload size is 10 MB. Most photos are well under this limit.
Does Incarn work on mobile?
Yes. Incarn is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. You can upload a photo directly from your phone's camera roll.
The animation failed — what should I do?
Try again with a different photo. If the face is very small, partially obscured, or at an extreme angle, our technology may struggle. If the problem persists, contact us at [email protected].
Does the free animation have a watermark?
Animations generated with free credits include a subtle watermark. Paid animations are watermark-free.
How many faces can be animated on a photo?
As many as you like! For best results, we recommend photos with 1 or 2 clearly visible faces.
Does it work with animals?
Incarn is optimized for human faces. Results with animals may vary, but you can always try for free!
